It appeared from the first 10 seconds that it was going to shape up to be a 5 minute long cocaine joke, so I turned it off.....

Calling it a "joke" was a stretch. This was ridiculously unfunny - not because I have any kind of the slightest care about the whole DeLorean cocaine situation, but because this was just a really, really, really poorly written sketch with no humor whatsoever.

Keep in mind that this is vintage material. This aired on 10/23/1982. John Delorean was arrested 4 days earlier, all of the facts were not even known yet. You have to have been alive at the time and remember first hand how the events of Deloreans arrested were aired in the news. The skit was totally relevant 4 days after his arrest. Now.....30 + years after his arrest and acquittal, and all of the facts being known...maybe not in good taste, but still history.
