I went to the junk yard the other day and found a Volvo 240 with Bosch Fuel Injection. It was a 4 cylinder, yet it had a fuel distributor that could accommodate 6. It physically looks just like the unit on the DeLorean. The part number is different, so I'm not sure it could have been used in our cars. What does everybody think, should I have bought it?

Was it off a turbo 240? unless if was for a PRV, the metering amount probably will never be right and besides you never know how clean it is inside. But if you cleaned it up maybe with an ultrasonic cleaner it might be worth trying it out rather than busting out the big bucks for a rebuild dmc unit.

I have seen people on volvo forums adapt a Mercedes v8 unit with 8 outlets to work on their turbo'd 4cyl volvo by doubling up the injectors per cylinder as a cheap way to get more fuel in the engine that is running more boost.

I cant find pictures of it now but I got an aluminum Distributor off some 6cyl mercedes, like a '92 230e or something, It has individually adjustable ports for each injector to get them all even. It was a $50 insurance part in case my K jet went to hell or something but ive still done nothing with it.

Because there are so many internal things that can be different for every application it is not worth getting unless you get it so cheap it doesn't matter if you throw it away. If the one on your car is working the chances of your needing it are very small.

It would've cost him 25 dollars to buy.
