Pass Side Mirror Moves after closing door

Just took the D out for its first real shakedown run, all went well. One problem I have is the passenger side mirror moves after the door shuts. The mirror itself moves not the housing. Also when I adjust it with the switch the mirror jerks, and is not smooth operating. I am thinking it may be a motor if so how hard is it to fix, If not motor whats your opinions

Jerky mirror positioning is fairly common. Mostly caused by dry Guide pins. There are 2 or 3. Does the glass seem excessively loose if you touch it with your finger? There is a single screw (centered) that mounts the mirror base to the actuator it could be loose. Access to it is only by removing the glass from the base. The glass is held on with a two sided tape. Unless it really bugs you I'd leave it alone.

If you really have too, you can carefully remove the glass by heating it with a hair dryer and gingerly prying it of of the plastic base. Using a putty knife under the outer corner while working it inward to separate the glass w/ pad Try to do your best NOT to mess up the adhesive pad. Try to get the pad to stay on the glass and release from the plastic base.
