What is the coldest temperature you have ever driven your DeLorean in? Do you have any good stories to share?

About a 2 dozen hardy souls (a dozen Deloreans) would participate in the parade on Long Beach Island in Ship Bottom each Winter. It was canceled this year because of Hurricane Sandy. When we went we would be lined up for over an hour so we would walk back and forth to the 7-11 for coffee and hot chocolate to keep warm. During the actual parade we would travel with doors open and it gets cold and windy!!!!! One car had some minor electrical issues one year but he got going again with some help and was able to finish the parade. It seems the hot weather is a lot harder on the cars (and the people) than cold weather.

A few months after I got my car I took a morning drive. The temperature was 27F and after about a mile I found out that the de-ice recall hadn't been done !

While I have done a lot of cold weather DeLorean driving, including purchasing a DeLorean in Austin, TX and driving
it back to the Chicago area, non-stop, during the Winter, over a decade ago (VIN..2903), the one one bad weather,
Winter "event" that probably stands out the most, for many DeLorean owners, was attending John DeLorean's wake.

The weather was bad (snow/sleet/rain) across the entire Rust Belt, to the East Coast and up into Canada, but over
two dozen devoted DeLorean owners drove their DeLorean cars to Michigan to honor John Z. DeLorean one last time.
I arrived early with Tamir, to set up some over-sized DeLorean photo posters and a video that Tamir put together.

The front of Desmond's Funeral Home turned into a memorial, with all the snow and ice covered DeLoreans parked
along the front of the building, parallel to Woodward Avenue. It was a fitting, final tribute to John Z. DeLorean.
Note: Rob Grady drove over 14 hours straight, through a few Winter storms, to make it to the wake.

That was quite a ride to JZD's wake. Lots of snow, ice, etc. I'm glad you posted that link, Rich, as I just came across a picture of myself in Pilot 20 that I didn't even know was taken!

No, Ken and Cliff own Pilot 21 (still in restoration) and has not been in one piece for over two decades.

Pilot 20 has since been purchased and shipped to the UK. In the past 7 years, Pilot 20 has been stripped
of it black paint, all stainless panels repaired and refinished, and full restoration by Chris Nicholson.

Pilot 20 (and Pilot 19, under full restoration) are both part of the rare DeLoreans restored by PJ Grady UK.

I think it was -10C (14F) when I drove it coldest ever. The weather and the roads were dry however.

First year I had mine, it went out four times over the winter, just because. Roughly -20C each time. I can vouch for the heaters in these cars.

Not necessarily...two cars went through Kaptest around the time the company was going under. I'm sure they were driven in colder weather than my little jaunts.

Plus, there's at least one Alaskan owner.

Coldest I've ever driven the DeLorean was about 15ºF. Its also been through a snowstorm once, in Wisconsin driving back from New York for the 2002 fall foliage tour...

But yea with the amount of salt placed on the roads in my part, the car is generally stored from the first snowfall in the fall, until the first good rainstorm in spring.

I ran mine below freezing when I drove it back from upstate NY last February. I also hit some snow and freezing rain.
