I remember back in 2005 when I heard John DeLorean had passed away, and was quite upset. I had always wanted to meet the man, and express my gratitude for what he had done, the magnificent car he had built, and the work that went into it. What he accomplished in his lifetime was nothing short of astounding, at Packard, General Motors, and later DeLorean. He has always been a personal hero of mine, and I regret I never had the chance to tell him in person while he was still alive. Today I had a job interview in the Metro Detroit area for an Engineering position, and finally made the time to go see his final resting place in Troy. I found, it, cleared the snow away, and was finally able to express my feelings.

Is that at White Chapel?

Also, not to switch topics, but what company and area did you apply for? Good Luck! (I'm curious as I'm an Electrical Eng at Nissan).

I just realized the image on the memorial is Tamir's car:

The headlight covers tripped my memory.

For those of you that did not attend JZD's wake, I am attaching low-res copies of the "poster" photos that Tamir sent me
from California, to have printed, poster size, and transported to MI for the wake. They were setup around the wake room.

Nope. Claims like that require EMPIRICAL EVIDENCE!

I remember those pictures they were well done. Everyone had to brave a quick blizzard to get to the wake on time. My frame did not appreciate the salt spray as I found out the next spring but it was for a worthy cause. I had to pay my respects to the man who created the car that made my life's work possible!

That was quite an experience for me to sit in Pilot 20! Much better lumbar support in those seats compared to stock. I'm glad someone captured this moment in a photo.

Hey Patrick you look so young there you were probably still wet behind the ears!!! That same somebody caught my mug bending over to get a better look at something. Very rare picture of me in a suit!!!! Check out the snow cap on the nose of pilot 20. My green machine looked even worse coming from New York. I'll have to try and find my funeral pictures tonight if I get home in time. Spring fever has driven everyone into overdrive so it's crazy around here right now.

Yes, that was me taking the photos of the DeLoreans outside the wake. Below is a photo of Rob's car after some of the slush and ice had melted off already.

Hard to believe 10 years have passed since then!!! I remember riding up with Shannon Y in his car (I wasn't comfortable driving mine in a blizzard!) and another owner's car started sputtering and missing. We were all pulled over on the side of the highway scratching our heads, when out of nowhere comes a green DeLorean driven by the expert himself! :) A little dry-gas in the tank and we were all on our way again! Lots of memories from that day.

Seeing three Deloreans suddenly appear in the swirling blizzard was certainly an unusual occurance and to find that I knew every one of you while 800 miles from home was pretty bizarre too!!! Yeah those were the days my friend! RIP John RIP!
