Delorean Wheeler Dealers Episode

For anyone who has not yet seen it, I noticed that the Delorean episode of Wheeler Dealers is scheduled to be repeated tonight at 7pm Eastern time on The Velocity Channel as part of an all day marathon of the series. This was quite a good episode of an enjoyable show, and it gave the car a pretty good shake too.

If I could figure out how to rip video from my Verizon DVR, I'd let you "borrow" it indefinitely. ;)

I looked into this a year or two ago and seems like I came to the conclusion that it wasn't possible w/o the use of dragon tears and magic spells. I'll see about revisiting this problem and PM you if I get something helpful.

Why not just get a DVR for your computer that you can rip with?I have yet to come across a device that records from HD to a computer and doesn't cost an arm and a leg. 480p is no problem at all, and tons of hardware exists for that, but once the term "HDMI" comes into play, price goes up exponentially. What costs $10 for a tube TV costs $100 for a flatscreen. If anyone knows of one that's cheap and points me to it, I'd be more than happy to buy one and upload the result onto a file sharing site. Particularly since there is another TV show I've been dying to grab off my DVR in HD ;)

(Side note: U-verse DVR's are an equally futile venture. My old TiVo is a cakewalk, but doesn't support HD unfortunately.)

Have that one on DVD, indeed great show, I can appreciate they "repect" the Delorean.
Only their trip to an DMC (carlifornia?) they buy parts of the shelf, incl a binnacle which is not available like that.
But for the rest I've seen it 7 or 8 times already.

And they didn't include the replacement carpet and shift boot in their parts list when tallying up everything at the end.

Okay, they go out and buy a car that needs some work then start buying parts to make repairs. At the end the costs are totaled but they never include Edd's time. What's up with that? The labor to make these repairs would probably be more than the parts. The Delorean episode is great!

I think the point they are trying to make is to consider the operation like house flipping. The cost of the car and the parts is all that matters as the labor is free by the owner. Can a person buy a car, fix it up being conscious of budget and using used parts if possible and still sell the car at profit. Don't think of Edd as a professional mechanic here but rather a knowledgeable weekend mechanic.

They're leather, but since there's a core for your old binnacle, they undoubtedly have some good condition vinyl ones on hand. I'm not the person who bought the DeLorean they fixed up, but I do own the car that was featured in the intro of the episode. The "Pristine" car (driving shots only). I did all the drive by shots, and my friend Chris did all the close up driving shots.

Although I think a better explanation is a) some never really use the internet that much (e.g. my previous owner), b) of those that do, some are "lurkers", never posting, but occasionally contacting vendors when the need arises (e.g. the owner a couple miles away from me), and c) some are too famous for us not to pester them relentlessly about it (e.g. Will.I.Am, Zach Effron, the latest "Doctor Who", etc.).
