That's pretty cool. I may have to pick up a set since I do enjoy a glass of wine often. Although my taste is not very refined, I would have to think stainless would make a big difference in the taste to someone who does have an educated palate.

Still, for someone who drinks mostly Yellowtail and Barefoot Cab and Shiraz, and has recently discovered "Bota Box" I think they will be a nice addition.

That's what the DOA did wrong all those years ago. Instead of DOA branded wine, they should have done these with the DOA crest.

I would imagine the typical REI customer brings boxed wine or those individual plastic bottles (as opposed to glass bottles) on their hikes/camping so unbreakable SS glasses would be ideal.

Yep. This is a problem with these kinds of things. Stainless is pretty awesome aesthetically, but glasses are made of glass for a reason - it's completely non-reactive. Wine can be pretty acidic. That said, stainless is used all over the place in the production of beer and wine and it's fine as long as you use the right kind.

I tried looking up the grade of stainless used to make these things, but of course they describe it with the completely meaningless "high-grade 18/8 stainless steel". Hooray, that just tells me it's SOMETHING in the 300 grade range without going into any useful detail. Assholes.

You can pretty much eliminate whatever problem you might have by washing the SHIT out of these before you ever use them and then drying them immediately with a soft cloth. Personally, I'll just stick with glass.
