No low beams

HELP! Low beams/headlights won't turn on. The marker lights and tailghts come on when I push the switch. Push it again, no low beams! Fuse is fine. High beams still work.

Is the switch engaging on the second push to turn on the headlights, or is it popping back out?

Take your switch and push the button as if you're going to turn on the headlights, but hold the button in manually - see if the headlights come on. If they do but go off when you let go of the switch = burned out headlight switch.

The switch engages on the second push but no lights. The dash light doesn't turn on either.

I had that happen to me once...turned out to be that the low beam/high beam switch in the turn signal stalk wasn't making proper contact in low beam position. You say your high beams work; if you pull the switch back to low beam (with headlights on), pull it past rest position (flash-to-pass), let it return to rest position and then slowly wiggle it fore-and-aft, do your low beams come on at all? Even for a quick flicker? If so, it's more than likely dirty contacts inside the switch, or it's gotten gummed up in there to a point that it's not seating properly in the low beam position without a bit of help. If not, I would say check fuses, but you have done that and they're a-ok. My money's on that column switch at the moment...try that and see what happens.

Also, is your headlight switch original? Could be a sign of it going out, although I'm not sure if that is one of the signs (high beams working and not low beams).

If i wiggle the switch, low beams do not come on. If I switch to high beams all four lights come on. The switch is original. Coincidence or not, the fan speed switch went bad today too.

So if you engage your high beams, all 4 lights turn on. Swap out your headlight relay with another one you know for sure is good. See if that changes anything. Refer to the headlight schematic to see the circuit:

Do you hear the relay click when you turn on the low beams? I'd try swapping the relay as well. Keep in mind that the high and low beams are on separate fuses as well.

As a last resort, jumper power to the fuse directly to hot to see if the lights come on. (The fuse is AFTER the relay - go figure). I had a car in here where no low beams was actually two bad bulbs. Of course the alternator was putting out about 25 volts . . . . .

Verify Fuse 14 is good. Then Swap the HI (Main) and LO (Dip) relays. You already know the Hi is GOOD. The tell tail sign that the the lights are not Burnt out is the Lack of the Dip Beam indicator light. If those items check out. Then it's the stalk switch or the in the connectors that go to it.

I then turned the key to off ( the car was running when I was plugging/unplugging) and the lights went off. I looked under the steering column and must have touched something and they came back on. Now there still on. Does this make my sense?

It is very possible both low beam filaments are burnt out. Check each filament in both bulbs.

All the lighting goes through the hi/lo switch on the stalk (turn signal switch), so it's more likely that has a problem than the headlight switch.

So it's possible that there may be a bad connection in the stalk? Or the hi/low switch in the stalk?

Yes - or the connector to the stalk. That is about 12 inches in from the stalk toward the front of the car, usually zip-tied near the steering column. You'll see three connnections, one is the headlight switch (the other are turn signals/horn and ignition).
