Transmission drip from the gear selector rods?

I'm getting a very slight drip of transmission fluid from the point at which the gear selection rods enter the transmission. [Fluid is wetting right at the front (frontmost) end of the transmission. I read in another post that there is an o-ring or seal in that location but I can't find the part# or other references to it being replaced.

Anyone encounter this problem before?

I have (or had) that leak also. I head it could have been a clogged vent. When I found it, it broke upon removal but looked to be open. I have since ordered 2 from DMC, the first one broke upon attempt to insert it. The second broke when I held it in my hand & lightly tried to flex it. These parts are either very brittle plastic, or have just not aged well in 30 years & are brittle due to age. If you find the vent (top of trans near where it mounts to the engine, driver side of car), simply try to see if it's got gunk around it or not. My best advice to you: if it's got gunk around it, carefully clean it....if it looks OK, don't touch it.

As to why it's leaking at the shift selector, I don't know. If the vent is open & the trans is not overfilled, it should not leak (in theory)....but both of those checked out on mine & it was still leaking. Only other reasonable explanation is that the seal around the selector shaft is worn out.

I got the same issue. I ordered some parts through Danny, but just haven't had time to install them. I believe the parts were 103131 and it could also be 103132. Check out Houston's page;

I also have that drip, I got those half bushings but didn't know how to install them.
