I repaired my headliner and installed new fabric, now I am ready to put the dome light back in. The dome light never worked while I owned the car, since July 2012. Anyways, I just have the 3 wires hanging down right now. I tested for voltage and got nothing. Where should I look next?

The purple wire at each of the dome lights should have +12V at all times.

Check Fuse #12 and its blades/sockets. Center fuse on bottom row of fuse box. Fuse box cover calls it the "Courtesies" fuse.

See wiring schematics here. The interior lamp circuit diagram got revised at end of first post: LINK: http://dmctalk.org/showthread.php?40-All-Wiring-Schematics (http://dmctalk.org/showthread.php?40-All-Wiring-Schematics)

When you test for +12V use a known-good ground for the other VOM lead, not one of the other dome light wires. That way you are chasing only one problem at a time.

The front and rear dome lights are wired in parallel. So you could also use an ohm meter to see if your issue is in the roof or elsewhere.
