Engine dies in idle only when hot

I never had engine issues. A year ago my waterpump was replaced. It could be a coincidence but from then on when the engine is hot and when arriving at Ã* traffic light the engine stops. It will start direct and the engine runs good. But the problem Gets worse it now dies at every traffic light. If I do not shift quickly enough the engine stops.
So we tried to improve mixture and idle. Runs perfect hit The gas ounce and the engineering stops.
It is driving me crazy. In Ã* few weeks I should attend the delorean event in sweden but there is no way i can make this trip that way.
Anyone has experience in this?

I would look closer at what else might have changed when you did your water pump change out. Coincidence if it was related to the differences in water pumps somehow, but not a coincidence in terms of you had parts of your engine apart while doing the work, and it wasn't an issue before, but it is after the job.

Double check the various connections are as they should be. Vacuum lines, fuel lines, electrical connections. If the coolant then was drained to do that job, ensure it is all as it should be in terms or fluid, air pockets, caps, sensors and switches. Are your belts where they need to be and at an appropriate tension?

I will say our cars do have some gremlins or little leprechauns that can make things happen out of nowhere, but when you knowingly had an issue after a particular job on your car, signs point to something related to that project as the cause.

If it idles too low it will stop. Make sure when the throttle arm is at idle it hits the micro switch. Vacuum leaks reduce the effectiveness of the idle motor. Just to get running you could open the three brass screws to get the idle up higher.

Sounds like your adjustment of the curb idle and idle switch got messed up when you had the water pump replaced.

Did you read them ? No you can't read all of them. Did you read at least some of them ?

Are you aware of the standard problems ?

Bad adjustment mentioned above since it just showed up after the work (taking the linkage off the engine can mess up the adjustment);

Bad connection at the idle speed motor - pull off the plug and make sure none of the pins has backed out of the connector; (this was also taken apart for the water pump job).

They picked up the Delorean on Monday on a trailer to go to the Delorean service center.
I planned to go to Sweden with her, but not like this. so I hope the professionals will handle it professionally and fix this so I do not have to worry about it.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
