Fuel Accumulator...to change or not?

Hi All,
Over the last four years I have done a mechanical refurbishment of 3462. I have pretty much replaced everything mechanical that can fail due to age.
I have never had a hot start issue. I have one of Hervey's fuel accumulator kits sitting here and I'm wondering should I change the accumulator, or wait until a hot start issue develops? A wise man once said, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it!"

May not be broke, but it's a 30+ year old diaphragm so it's a question of when not if... Why wait until something like that starts causing you grief when you can proactively nip it now?

I continue to break things while I am fixing other things.

If you already have the kit and the means to change it, I would go ahead with it. On your time is better than at a surprise time. That is unless you liking hanging around odd places for two plus hours waiting for your car to cool down.

A bad accumulator won't get you stuck. You can always get going by doing the plug swap. Since you are already being so proactive I wonder why you are even asking. Since you have the part just go ahead and do it.

When in doubt, change it out.

At this point it really can't hurt anything.

I will change it then....but not the O-ring! That one is not broke and not getting fixed!
