Replacement clutch master question

I ordered a girling replacement clutch master off ebay . It seems identical to the DMC one on the outside except the connector.

When I opened it up to change the rod I noticed a girling one seems to have a 19 millimeter piston and the DMC one seems to have a 22 millimeter piston.

Obviously, smaller piston, less fluid movement. Not sure if I should mount it or get a DMC one.

Any suggestions?

Take the old one apart and see what the bore looks like. If it is smooth with no deep pits maybe just stick a kit in it. If it is corroded I would not use the smaller one. I would get the proper size.

I agree. Man, I really hate ebay. I hardly ever buy from there and often got screwed. Most legit stores/online shops have what I want.

The bore seems fine, I check it as carefully as I could. Actually, the seals appear fine too. Do you know which rebuild kit is for this unit David?

I checked the older thread, someone recommend Fenco #22320 from autozone. I called and that is not in the computer.

Ok, update.. the bore is no good. It has grooves in it. New master time.

I was going to get one that has a stainless liner in it. That should last forever.

What other parts? They also carry the dust boot as well.

Are you looking for a sleeve to repair the bore? Push rod? There really isn't that many parts on it.

I am looking for the entire kit, but if it’s not available there are other options :)

Typically you only get the "soft" parts, the rubber stuff and sometimes new "C" or "E" clips. If the "hard" parts are missing or broken, it is time to replace the cylinder. Of course the bore of the housing must be usable. Either by honing or sleeving it. There are also companies that provide rebuilding services like White Post. Getting harder and harder to find rebuilding kits, nobody wants to spend the time doing it. Be careful, most kits you can find nowadays may have been sitting on a shelf for 30 years!
