Ok.. The PO used a metal bar and two screws for the linkage from the clutch pedal to the bar that presses the clutch master.

These reamed out the holes over time, thus oval and sloppy.

I was going to redrill them bigger, but I didn't want to take any metal away.

I used this, from McMaster-Carr

Wow - what a difference. Perfectly smooth, zero slop.. just like my other car. It's of course adjustable for pedal height too.

I had to try a few pieces, not a lot of space there. I had to grind a bit too.

Here it is installed.

I made two orders from McMaster. I was hoping to use the ball joint ends on both, but no way of getting them on without talking the actual clutch pedal off the bar it's on. Just no space.

If doing over again, I would get two of the stainless end (59915K483 like the one pictured) and a 2" rod. Just put a bolt through it.

You might have to use a few washers to stand off the tie rod ends so they don't scrape the clutch pedal arm.

Again, I made it work.. I had to grind a bit and shorten one of the tie rod overall lengths.

I used 5/16" 24 thread. ends. This is the parts.

18-8 Stainless Steel Fully Threaded Stud, 5/16"-24 Thread, 2" Length, packs of 5

59915K483
2 - PTFE-Lined Stainless Steel Ball Joint Rod End, 5/16"-24 Right-Hand Female Shank, 5/16" Ball ID, 11/16" L Thread

I actually used one of these and one of the above.
6072K32
Self-Lube Bronze Race Ball Joint Rod End, 5/16"-24 Right-Hand Thread Female Shank with Right-Hand Thread Stud

I tried to use two but would not fit. Also, they are a bit too tall.

Good luck!

Thanks! I'm going to add one to the brake pedal too.
