Who owns two or more DeLoreans?

Who owns the most DeLoreans?

For these purposes, I would count any cars that you personally own whether they be running, non-running or even ‘active’ parts cars (cars that you have completely parted out in the past, don’t count). Doesn’t include vendors with multiple cars on their lots, unless they are personally owned by one individual (and not for the purposes of reselling).

If you know of anyone who fits the bill, but isn’t active on here, please post a comment.

I'm a DOOM member with 2 DeLoreans. They are both in tip top shape, both from a mechanical and cosmetic standpoint. As many know, I'm on the prowl for number three.

I am not sure how to classify the disassembled parts cars that I have acquired (not to be further parted out), but I will leave those off the list.

I currently have 5+ cars that I intend to keep and hand down to my nephews and 5+ cars that are currently project cars (over 50% of parts).
In addition, I have a number of damaged underbodies and damaged frames, some of which I acquired a decade ago from Shepard Chevrolet/DeLorean.

Three 500 Series DeLoreans, one other early 81, one early 82 (DD) and one late 83 project car.

I was thinking of you, Rich W and Cliff S as some of the "super" owners, but I had no idea whether to go 5+, 10+, 15+. So I just left it at 5+ and let people comment.

Somehow I think OOMD might have been okay. In terms of a tribute to an 80s icon, wanting more of them, not wanting to let go of the ones you have, kind of seems perfect to me? :)

5646 is the only one I actually plan to keep. Everything else is a revolving restoration/sales situation. I no longer purchase cars for personal use and tend to stay away from the problematic ones.

Agreed. Project cars, destined to become operational vehicles again, should be listed. Parts cars (going the other way...parting out), not so much.

I currently have 5+ cars that are project cars (each with over 50% of their parts) which will be rebuilt stock or mild custom.

All the other panels, interior parts and damaged parts (from accident and/or burn damaged cars) can be used to fix the project cars.

I can understand owning 1 auto and 1 manual, but why do you need anymore? it manipulates the pricing of vehicles which makes it harder for the average person to be able to afford one leaving them only to you rich folk to take them and leave the poorer peope with the project cars that will take 10 years or more to restore.

I don't really understand why people feel the need to judge others for their belongings. I thought it was well established that DeLoreans are not rich people cars. Why should people have more than one car? Why should people have more than one job, one house, one firearm, one jacket? Because we can do what we want with our money. I seriously doubt people owning 2 is really driving up the price since cars keep popping up on auction sites in various conditions for under $10k.

2 would be my limit, unless it was one of great significance. Such as Proto-1 or one of the gold plated cars.

There is no shame in hoarding Deloreans. It does not effect the market either.

Not sure about any of the other "Multiple DeLorean Owners", but I have four nephews and when I get too old to play with my Custom DeLoreans,
each of them will get one of them. Same with the Project Cars, Stock and Mild Customs ... each nephew will get one (if they want another one),
which may eventually leave me with one or two to drive around (maybe 1 manual and 1 automatic) until I am gone. My nephews do help with the
Project DeLorean Cars, so having these cars help them learn how to refurbish and maintain a DeLorean, for the Future.

So, in terms of the Big Picture, both myself and my nephews may not have more than 2 DeLoreans (per person).

I don't see anything wrong with owning many DeLoreans. There is something weird about this car that makes you want to own many. On my list is another DeLorean.

As far as driving up prices I don't see how this makes sense. And I rather a "rich" person be the custodian of one of these cars than someone who doesn't have the funds.

I have a feeling I'm gonna be changing/ updating my DOOM status soon. It is a sickness with these cars. I've never seen two "exactly" the same and I'm obsessed with all the little changes throughout the production of the cars. I do like other types of cars and have owned other cars that I have liked, but I feel the most comfortable with DeLoreans because I know them better that my other "likes". If I grow tired of owning multiple DeLoreans, I can always sell them off. I'll offer them for sale here first if that should happen.
