So, I saw an Isuzu Impulse today. Growing up, I always thought those were kinda cool. Maybe because the first-gen ones had a front end that bore a striking resemblance to another favorite car of mine :) Handling by Lotus, too (I'm sensing a pattern here...). Anyway, it got me curious so I thought I'd poke around and see if there were any on eBay and what they were fetching these days. There is only one (well, two, since the auction is a two-fer), but in the auction pics there is a DeLorean in the background; it's not part of the auction, nor any other on eBay right now. No plate on it, looks to have the black side stripe. Anyone know the skinny on this car? According to the listing, it is in North Bergen, NJ.

You can see it in the second and last pictures.

Geesh, I thought our engine bays were confusing! That engine is a disaster.

Call me crazy, but I really dig the the instrument/control cluster in that car. It's quirky in that "we put absolutely no thought into this" kind of way :)

That is La Fe Foods, 230 Moonachie Road, Moonachie (I believe). Its right down the street from where I work. The DeLorean was in storage for the longest time in the building next door. I couldn't get the vin because it was covered with dust when I saw it, but I believe it is an 82, flat hood with wide black strips. It was just recently registered (with in the past year). Only reason I know that is because I was registering a truck for work and the teller had a picture of it at her counter. Long story short, she loves deloreans told me that the guy just came in not too long ago to register it. I stopped by once to see if the owner was available to talk, but the receptionist wouldn't let me in.

Nope, not crazy at all. I always dug that too. Always seemed futuristic to me. Dunno, maybe it reminded me of KITT or something.

I'm telling ya. There are more than a couple of similarities between these cars and the D. It's got to be the reason I always liked these things. The D was always my #1 favorite growing up but there was always something about the Impulse that drew me to it. I found a couple of pics that show what I mean...

Looking at that front end, its almost uncanny. The headlight arrangement, the flat grille, the emblem. All very familiar. Even the hood is hinged the same.
