Hey all,

I'm trying to put in a set of fiberglass headliners. I have the new-ish metal dome light which I am pretty sure I also got from DMCH, maybe 12 years ago. Anyway the hole in the headliner is quite a bit too small, i'd say 1/4" lengthwise and the width is also too narrow. See pics. Anyone else run into this? I'd rather not have to grind up this fiberglass to make it fit but I don't see an alternative, unless I have the wrong dome light this whole time.

Hey Andy,

I have found some widening is needed for certain light units. I have original head liners with euramtecs in 3205 and fibreglass with euramtecs in 2510. Does the light have a collar that can be removed? Some do.

Thanks. I ended up opening the dome light hole with a dremel. I think it is OK now. Of course then once I tried to fit it, the screw holes for the visor are also too small so it looks like I am drilling those out as well!!

Finally got everything installed! Headliners look pretty good. Only problem is one of my positions on the dome light stopped working. I'll have to deal with that some other time. I ended up having to enlarge the dome light hole and also enlarge the visor holes by about 3x in order to get everything together. I think I spent 3 hours just messing around with the visors. Glad it's all done, looks good, and I will hopefully never go there ever again!
