Has anyone ever seen this fuel setup ?

Just got 3758 purchased and home. This is what is under the hood. A pair of three barrel webers from a 1966 Porsche 911. Carbs need rebuilt, accelerator pumps leaking into the engine valley. But it does start. :woot:

Well, That looks interesting! Just try getting all of them in tune! I hope there is an air cleaner? I also see it is an automatic. You might want to try getting a K-Jet system from someone who did a carb conversion and has a lot of extra parts (if you want to go back to stock?). You are right to be cautious with fuel leaks. Get them fixed before running it anymore.

Thanks David . Yes there are air cleaners. It is complete. I was so excited to get it home and post on here that i didnt have it all together in the photo. I dont think I want to go back to stock right now. I am a mechinic by trade, and am intrigued by the engineering that went into this carb setup. If it cant be made reliable then I will gladly revert back to the kjet. Actually already purchased a complete intake manifold just in case. But today ordered carb kits to remedy the fuel leaks. I have waited 20 yrs to own this car absolutely not taking any chances on burning it up. Looking forward to everyones input, thoughts and opinions. Keep them coming !

Congrats on your purchase! I remember seeing something similar on the old DMCTalk.com site, but it was a different engine (had been painted red) and was running polished air horns without cleaners. Might have been triples. This is all from memory and I may have it wrong. I'll try to find the picture and post it if I still have it.

Mine is sporting the automatic, but is black interior. Seems to be a very solid car, there is some evidence of repaired in the lower front edge of the frame, not sure how extensive yet. Isnt appearent from the outside, but for what I gave for the car I feel very comfortable. It only has 16,000 miles on the clock and the interior and exterior panels are in near perfect condition. I will try to get some better photos once I get it all cleaned up. What a great project for the weekend. Make it shine .

Well theres another unique set-up three dueces. Mine is using 2 , 3 barrel webers, and by the model number on the carb they were exclusive to Porsche for the 1966 and 1967 911's. Ordered rebuild kits last night, so hopefully by next weekend we will running. I am sure there will be plenty more hurdles to jump to make her road worthy once again, but can you think of a better way to spend time than in the company of a stainless steel marvel ?

Yes it is the same car. I purchased it from the owner. I know its where abouts for approxmiately the last twenty years. An older gentleman owned it and is/was experiencing health issue and left it sat. Thats when it ended up at Bauerle's maybe as long a 5 yrs ago in talking to Dave and the previous owner. Previous owner purchased in the mid nineties in the Cinci area so the story goes. According to the title, the previous owner only put about 2,000 miles on it during the time he had it.

I had a friend that had to have a 1967 911T when he got out of high school, and when he took it in for a tune up it was $1000, (1973 money) because of the carbs... bet it costs a lot more now. Good thing you can do your own work!

Any update on the status of this restoration? Per my research, unless it was custom made, the intake was sourced from a Renault Alpine A310 or a Talbot Tagora.
