Sometimes when starting while the engine is warm.....

I don't know if anyone else has ever experienced this, but sometimes when the car is off but still warm (not hot, not cold... warm), I'll start the car, and it's like half the engine is running or something. For the first 10 seconds or so, it's like half my cylinders aren't firing and car feels very rough - almost like the engine is stumbling over itself, then after 10 seconds or so, you can "feel" the car smooth out and you can tell everything is working as it should.

It has always thrown me as to why this happens. Anyone have an explanation or theory behind it? Seems like this only happens with a warm engine.

Shot in the dark: Cold Start Valve firing when it shouldn't so too much fuel in the intake?

I would agree the Cold Start Valve may be the problem (actually the Thermo-Time switch causing the CSV to operate when it shouldn't) or leaky injectors. Or maybe a combination of both.

I'd vote for leaky injectors...plugs fowled out and clearing up.
If you have double checked all of your settings, pull the plugs and look for a distinct difference in their appearance.

I just installed new plugs a couple hours before this happened. I gapped them myself to about 0.025" each.

I'm starting to think my injectors aren't spraying correctly or leaking as I am starting to develop a nasty warm start issue lately.
