I just replaced my clutch line with the stainless model, To get more room I disconnected the reverse light plug on the tranny. Upon plugging it back in I now have no reverse lights. I have a good tight connection at the plug, and have replaced the #16 fuse as that one was blown. I read on another post regarding this issue there are some bulkhead plugs and a firewall plug that has something to do with the reverse lights, can anyone post pictures of where these plugs are so I can check them out? I did crawl up on the engine area to located the clutch bleeder screw maybe I knocked one of the connectors loose.

Do they light up if you connect the wires together?

Will try that next, just thinking I haven't added clutch fluid yet nor bled system, this shouldn't have any effect on the switch? The car is on stands I was just putting car in reverse to test light function after reconnecting it I was just thinking perhaps card really isn't shifting into reverse as clutch is basically inop.

No, the switch is just a switch. If you connect the wires together and the light goes on the switch is bad. If you connect the wires together and the lights don't go on, you need to trace the wiring. It goes from the switch to the bulkhead connectors neaer the coil (red plug) and then on to the light bulbs. It actually goes through two of the bulkhead connectors as the tail lights are on a different plug.

Will try that, I replaced #16 fuse as it was blown, there was some discoloration, perhaps corrosion on the fuse connector any advice as to how to carefully clean it up?

Corrosion on contacts can be cleaned with emory paper, light filing, dremmel (great for inside of the female bullets in bulkhead connectors) etc. Sometimes if there is crusty corrosion on them I use a bit of vinegar which eats that away. Not recommended in areas where you can't rinse however.

Jumper the wires going to the reverse switch as Dave S says but you also have to have the ignition key on. It is also possible both bulbs are burnt out so if they don't light up check the bulbs. As everyone knows the tailight boards are also notorious for bad connections. Check for voltage at the plug going the tailight boards.
