Any recommended mechanic in Charlotte area

When I lived in Charlotte I'd often see DeLoreans at Automotive International on Old Pineville Rd. I never took my DeLoreans there, so I can't give you a review on the place. I do know they focus exclusively on ultra high end European luxury cars & exotics, though.

If I were you, I'd try to befriend some local owners & see if they can help you get your governor replaced. Every time I tried to get even minor repairs done on my DeLoreans at repair shops in Charlotte, they weren't performed correctly.

I called two Volvo dealerships in the area, one was University Volvo, and they flat out told me no, can't work on it. The other was Volvo of Charlotte on Independence Blvd., and they claim they have 2 mechanics on staff, Scott Williams and James Hines, who have worked on DeLoreans in the past. Now I do not have any personal experience with them as I haven't had a DeLorean serviced there (don't yet own one) but I called because I was negotiating a purchase and, like you, was wondering where I'd have it serviced if I did buy it. Please keep us posted, and if I learn more about options, I'll let you know!

You will have more success with Indy Volvo shops, rather than current dealerships, started or staffed by older ex-Volvo mechanics.
