I received this lovely message today from a fellow eBay user regarding my ad for the Craig radio I'm selling:


Hey you fing idiot bafoon dmc houston sells them for $250 new in a box consider you ebay id reported to the delorean club out of US not Canda loser! we will find out who your are and a beware ripoff is already on the website w/ your ebay ID will get in touch after auction when it doesnt sell as everyone knows your game and remeber most of all you asshole have ebay fees you better pay them immediately at close after it doesnt sell see you my good friend!


If this ill-informed gentlemen is here and has the balls to come forward and try to defend his information I'd welcome it.

A simple search on DMC's site will show the unit for over $600.

Report his dumb ass to eBay and show them that message. EBay does not look kindly upon harassment and will put HIM on notice if not ban him altogether. What an idiot. Even if you were overhanging, he actually thinks eBay has some kind of fair price police action force to make sure nobody makes a profit.


When I get on a real keyboard I will tell you a story concerning messages like that.

Strangely enough the message reminds me of a former forum user. You can eliminate punctuation and misspell words on purpose. The tone and disrespect still ring through.

I have bought and sold watches for years on ebay. About a year ago, I was selling a paticular watch hard and heavy. I had them shipped from my supplier directly to the buyer whenever I sold one and was doing about 2-3 hundred profit from each sell. One buyer(after receiving and wearing his watch), found an online deal on the watch and sent me a similiar message demanding I refund the difference...like somehow I owed it to him. He was extremely rude in his messages, so I wasted no time in telling him in my own way that I didn't have a price match guarantee and what he could do with his watch. He even filed a paypal dispute(which I of course won).
I still got negative feedback(first one in over 10 years),

I love how your guy thinks you will owe ebay something if you do not sell. I personally have like 500 free listings, everyone gets deals like this and ebay only charges me if and when I sell something. Furthermore threatning to report you to the DOA...who gives a crap? How many people are in the DOA anyway? Now answer this, How many people are in the DOA that actually matter?

This sounds a lot like Ed B. and the blacklist crap....am I still on that list...I hope so.

eBay has really gone downhill. Unless it's another person in the DeLorean community that I know, or someone's eBay store with massive feedback, I don't buy. Wife had some old jewelery that she sold, plainly listed it as 14K gold. Buyer from NJ bought it and then claimed she misrepresented the product as 24K despite that never even being apart of the auction. Yet proceeded to try and offer a lowball settlement price that was $80 less than they paid. My wife refused and so they filed a complaint with eBay who for some reason sided with the buyer and wouldn't correspond at all save for scripted messages when she tried to appeal. The buyer continued to lowball her, steadily raising the price. She declined and opted for the full refund instead to get the items back. The buyer then started complaining again that she wasn't cooperating because she wasn't accepting the offer but instead exercising the refund option. eBay had no choice but demand that they send the item back or else. After waiting the jewelry came back, and we sold it for scrap and got just as much money. My guess is that they were scammers that had done this before, but were not prepared to deal with someone who wouldn't go along with them.

I also had some woman who was selling a complete set of limited edition spice jars that I bought as a gift for my wife who had been searching for them for quite some time. The woman didn't set a reserve and didn't have any bidders other than me, so I got the stuff at an amazing price. But when it arrived (much later), jars were broken because she didn't pack it correctly (no peanuts or bubblewrap, just 48 ceramic pieces wrapped in newspaper, and rattling around with no cushioning. Don't know if it was on purpose as an act of revenge because she was upset that the jars didn't sell for some high price she was expecting or if she was just that dumb. I left her neutral feedback. Stated that the items listed arrived, but that the seller didn't pack it very well resulting in damaged products. She got really indignant and sent me a nasty e-mail message. I told her that everything I needed to say was right there in that feedback. Never heard anything back.

Again, unless you're someone I know, a Top-Rated seller with a store, or you've got something that is super rare, I don't buy.
