Ever since I joined the old forums, I wanted to at least check out a Delorean in person. I'm willing to travel anytime this week or weekend, I'd really appreciate it and won't ask you any stupid questions or lecture you on your own car, guarunteed! Anyone anywhere near zip code 24311 that is willing to accomodate my request?

I'll be heading down to Abingdon, VA tomorrow if any local owner could meet me somewhere, I'd love to see your car. I hope someone can accommodate my request.

It doesn't have to be right away, can anyone sometime show me their car?

If you're ever up in Ontario, you can check mine out :)

I would highly recommend a visit to the Delorean Motor Company headquarters in Houston, Texas.
They have lots of cars of various milage from less than 200 never titled one to well used ones! You can see a body off frame and all the warehouse of parts and all the cars being restored and repaired. They also have the museum there were you see more about the Delorean and even play a Back To The Future pinball game!
Probably quite a drive... but perhaps a trip to Houston for vacation and a side stop at DMCH would be possible.

The DMCMW Open House next month might be closer

I see you're not too far from the North Carolina border; there are a ton of very active owners in NC (I was once one of them). You just missed Darren Decker's Spring gathering- I believe he had close to 20 DeLoreans at his house near Winston Salem a few weeks ago. He's even had Josh Bengston of DPI come help out with peoples cars during past get togethers. If you can wait until October, Darren always holds a second gathering in the Fall. Here's the thread from Darren's most recent tech day:
http://dmctalk.org/showthread.php?6327-North-Carolina-Tech-Event-(Spring-2013)-Saturday-April-20th-Featuring-DPI
At these events you'll meet any number of folks who would be glad to show you their cars, take you for a ride, and probably even let you take the wheel. Just keep an eye open in the DeLorean Events/Car Shows forum:
http://dmctalk.org/forumdisplay.php?8-DeLorean-Events-Car-Shows
The good thing about these events is you'll get to see the full spectrum of DeLorean cars: you'll probably see '81s, '82s, & '83s; black interiors & grey interiors; automatics & manuals; cars with & without stripes; unrestored/project cars, modified DeLoreans, & concourse-quality show cars. Seeing multiple cars at once like this will help you get an idea of what you want to search for when you're ready to buy.

Thanks, if I'm ever up that way, I'll let you know, I'd like to meet you if you ever come down to Virginia.

A little out of my range, I'd love to see it, but I can't get away from college and school for too long. I'm actually just barely able to get away for a weekend trip to DC with a friend, hopefully in a few weeks to a month from now.

About a 12 hour drive one way, little bit too far for me.

I wish I'd have known about that, I would have gone and been the only person to show up on a motorcycle more than likely..lol I hope one of those NC members finds this thread and lets me come down and check the car out before the October event.

If you ever make it to the Raleigh area, there are at least 2 active owners here. I would be glad to show off my car for you. There is also a D owner in Blacksburg, VA that might be a bit closer to you that frequents DMCTalk. Feel free to send me a PM.

If only I could meet you in Winston-Salem, that's only an hour away from me, I'm still kicking myself because I didn't check the events and see the one in April. I know there is a member in Blacksburg, but I honestly don't recall his username off the top of my head. Also, PM sent in case you don't see this reply.
