Ultimate Prom Car

I sing in an Octet group at Faith United Methodist here in Spring Texas. A young lady who is a senior in High School is one of the sopranos in the group and is an Honor Student and all around good kid. To 'reward' the right things she is doing in her life, I offered up my D for her senior prom. Attached in the photo from Saturday. As you can imagine they had a great time and the car was a big hit.

Yep... I went to her home and she drove me around and I taught her the quirks of driving it. Then she 'taught' her date/boyfriend. They did great with it. Drove from the north side of Houston into downtown for dinner and then back up to the north side (Woodlands) for the prom.

When kids are doing the right things, we should (as adults) find way to reward and encourage them. What good is owning something like this if we can't share and use it for the benefit of others.

Yes, it was scarry. But all ended well and they were the obvious hit of the party. :raveon:

i wanted to do that when i was going to my prom. it only took me another 23 years before i was able to get my D. :) Lucky kids.

I went to prom alone, but if I had gone in a Delorean, I'd have gone there alone, but in style! lol

I bet you made their night and then some. I would have been too nervous thinking about insurance claims, breakdowns, damage, etc. --> basically Murphy's Law. But all that aside, super cool of you to do this.

How many calls from their peers have you receiving asking to rent/borrow your car since then?

Wow... it's amazing how similiar the story! Although I approached her to see if she would want to use the car as a 'reward' for doing the right things in school and in life.
