After engine rebuild and transmission overhaul, I finally got to drive the D around the block a couple of times. After parking it, I noticed oil was leaking between engine and transmission. After pondering what to do, I decided to pull the transmission out to verify whether it was the seal or the rear plate. So, tranny out and sure enough rear main seal was definitely leaking. Before I remove existing seal and install new one, does anyone have any pointers on this procedure or can suggest a different seal ( the one I have is John H.). I would prefer not to have this problem again. Thank you all in advance for any advice.

Also, since I have transmission out again, I would like to install stainless steel sleeves in the drive flanges. Does anyone know where I can find them?

I got mine from P.J. Grady a couple of years ago.

1 - you probably got it installed at a slight angle - they will leak like crazy if not perfectly square to the opening. Or in the process of installing it you knocked the internal spring off.

2 - we have the sleeves in stock here.
