Slave cylinder pin

Hello all-

I am in the process of installing a new clutch slave cylinder and am curious to know if it is recommended to apply any grease to the pin on the clutch release fork before popping it into the new slave. It looks as if there is evidence of some on the old one, but I didn't want to grease this thing up and later find out that I shouldn't have. Thanks!

I didn't grease mine but I don't think it's going to hurt anything. It'd probably stop it from squeaking if it was going to squeak.

I also didn't grease mine. It presses up against a piston in the slave cylinder, I don't think grease would serve any purpose there.

Thanks for the responses! I didn't figure that the grease would really be necessary, but I didn't want to NOT do it and find out that I should have (kinda the reverse of my initial post!) either. I was thinking along the lines of the pin against the rubber maybe wearing faster if it wasn't lubricated, but the way it contacts it doesn't seem like it needs it. Thanks again for the advice!

I would grease the Pivot Pin End though.
