Wanted-----an engine cover please

Hi all

Mine is broken where the hinge attaches so I think it's better I buy a new/used one. I would like it to have the stainless inserts but anything in good condition would be great. I'll drive anywhere in Los Angeles and a little outside if I need to.

Hi and thanks...This guy whos selling this one is such a jerk I just cant buy it. I saw it up for 180, the 220. So I called letting him know I was interested but curious on the $40 increase from one week to the next. He had said that he had bought it for 180 from the previous advertiser and is now reselling it. Its his living if you search his phone number. Ok so I ask him if he will take $210 and he says that just for asking for a cheaper price, he is relisting for $280 and goes on about how rare they are and how much fiberglass ones are. I hung up on him after he was frim on raising his price out of principle. This thing has been on craigs for 6 months. Oh well.
So I thought I would check here.

I don't have one but I'd like to offer some advice. See if you can take it down to a marine or auto rebuilder. They might be able to do a structural repair cheaper than you could purchase a new one. A structural repair is a lot stronger than a cosmetic. They might even fiberglass in some metal support to keep that area from breaking again.

It's been on CL for literally years. Possibly before this guy bought it, if what he says is true. I had seen it at $180, $190 etc.

But that's certainly an interesting opinion on negotiating. It's not like your were low-balling him. Anything I list on CL, I build a little wiggle room into.
