Thanks. I think my pocket or belt loop caught the driver's side getting out of the door and it cracked. Is there any way to tell whether or nor they're the wide or narrow kind? Will both fit? I assume you can just yank them off and stick the new ones in?

You'll want to be extra careful when handling these caps, especially the new ones. I believe they are made of fiberglass and are brittle and easily broken.

I don't honestly know. I have never had mine off, so there could be a fastener of some kind in there. It seems to me more like it is snugged on there and perhaps some sort of adhesive holding it in place.

My passenger side looks like it either is factory and was never abused (not likely though all things considered) or was already replaced. It is in good shape and I'd just as soon leave it be. My driver's side one is a bit beat up and could stand a replacement.

I have both of these rear interior panels off at the moment if you want a picture or two from a certain angle. I know when you look at it while it is off the car, you can see the fir tree snaps that seem to have originally held the bolster in place. I'm likely going to try and freshen up the driver's bolster before it goes back in the car, so whoever figures it out first, post it here!

The ones that Houston and the other franchises sell now have a double-sided tape on them. I don't know if that's a new thing or if that's how they always were, but I don't believe there are any fasteners involved, just tape.

Looks a lot like mine after my belt loop caught it.

Not even fiberglass. Some sort of plastic.

It's called KYDEX thermoform plastic. It was developed in the Mid 60's and used in the Aircraft industry for years. Still is in some applications. This pre-dates polycarbonate. Unfortunately, Kydex is not a durable Long term product. Over-time it becomes brittle and cracks. We ( my employer ) still uses it on a few interior components. We have slowly switched over to Polycarbonate Material that is very tough and has 400˚F rating. This holds up quite well in High Solar Heat interior temps that can reach nearly 200˚ surface temps. Like your cars Dash in Arizona.
