I am looking to trade my 1998 V70 for a Delorean of any year or transmission type as long as the car is in working order.

1998 Volvo V70 AWD Turbo. Garage Kept. Great Condition, Automatic transmission, turbo inline 5. Odometer reading is just over 100k
Merlot with tan leather interior. Clean title in hand. I'm just getting kind of bored with the car and I'm ready to move on to what I really want.

Does it have the highly sought after 93 to 87 octane detuner kit and LED side marker conversion? Do you have any concerns about letting people test drive it?

Also would you be interested in a late model ford tow truck that I may want to include with my DeLorean?

At least the Volvo has a clean title/history report (no accidents or frame damage). No to mention that Michael is offering cash in addition to the Volvo trade! 8)

Although, I'm at a loss as to why anyone would offer a Volvo without a PRV in it on this forum. Then again, that's probably seen as a trading point advantage :biggrin:

In all honesty, that Roman Legion guy has a lot of current options for a cheap running D right now if he was serious about trading or selling his car at its fair market value (with the title/history report defects), as I recently posted over on his WTT thread.

This is what I don't get. You'd almost never find someone who wants to trade a DeLorean for another car. If they're getting rid of a D it's because they need to reduce their car count, need cash, or they're wanting to trade up. Mustangs and Volvos aren't in the right direction. (No offense.)

Then again, there's at least 4 ads recently/currently on Craigslist stating that the owners are willing to trade their DeLoreans for other vehicles - see the couple of ads that I posted above. One guy was looking for a 4x4 diesel truck. That other guy with the Ford flatbed specifically mentioned that he was looking for a 2000's Mustang.

As one rarely if ever experiences a capital gain on a vehicle sale (except in the world of highly collectible cars), I can't imagine that these people are wanting to trade for some sort of tax advantage, as there wouldn't be any unless you would be realizing a capital gain on a sale. And buyers pay any state sales tax, not sellers.

Maybe if these knuckleheads didn't post wanting to trade ads on Craigslist and the like, people like Roman Legion and Michael wouldn't get the idea that they can trade their cars for a DeLorean.

Volvos are very nice vehicles when new, but one of the vehicles with the lowest resale value, even dealers have hard time to get ride of them:
