Stainless panels

I am getting my paint stripped down in the coming weeks, but i am not off to a very good start. The paint on my car is hiding a fair bit of bondo, so I need new panels.

I absolutely need a drivers rear quarter panel. My T panel has a small hole in it which is repairable but if the price is right I will just purchase the panel. I may need a drivers door.

I am interested in any panel as long as it is straight. Minor dings, scratches or poor overall grain/oxidation are fine with me!

I may be able to help you with the driver rear. It got dinged (right near the lower rear) when someone backed into it and their insurance paid for a new one at DMCH. They gave me the old one and I managed to pretty much work out the entire damage. I can send pictures for you to decide for yourself. Nothing torn, nothing patched. Keep your glass, louvers and hardware.

Nice thing about SS is that it isn't taking up room in the garage, it's hanging on the side of my side fence not being worried by the elements!

I see DMCH wants $1,250 for the panel. We can do a whole lot better if you like what you see. I even have a box it might fit in... I just bought a trailer hitch for the van. What's your zip code?

I am holding off on the driver's door for now, Waiting for the door to get blasted to see how bad the damage is. I will keep you in mind, would you care to pm me some pictures and an asking price?

Bumping this thread instead of starting a new one. I was about to send my door off to blasting and found ALOT of bondo. Underneath it, many small dents. Attached is a picture, I stopped scraping but there is still alot more bondo left on the panel.

So I am looking for a drivers door. Doesn't have to be in perfect shape. PM me or respond to the thread if anyone has anything.

There is a guy in the UK stripping a car and he is finding the exact same thing. All of his panels have a thin layer of bondo/filler (he presumes to smooth out the stainless) and often the SS has been "gently" dimpled with a hammer to help adherence.

All my bondo is covering damage. This car must have been crashed multiple times or vandalised. No dimples here, just poor bodywork and excessive damage.
