Leaking pump?

Among other work done, I had a new fuel pump installed along with the boot etc...
I notice after going to the pump and filling it up (I stop once it clicks) usually a few hours later I smell gas. When I take off the fuel pump cover I find gas filled on top of the pump. And it spills out on top of the tank, we traced the frame rot I had to the area where the gas leaks too.
Since I had my frame completely rebuilt in the front. (That was fun) I don't wish to run into the same issue.
Does anyone else have his happen? I've never encountered this and have had the car since 2001, well over 10 years.
It only does this with new pump and boot. I took the pump out and tightened the clamps and still have the same issue.
With the engine running and the pump exposed I don't see any leaking fuel. Is there maybe another area I'm missing?

I checked the sender as well, seems to leak out of the top of that, once it stops there it starts a the pump.

You probably did not assemble the frame, the boot, and the pump correctly for it to leak. Maybe your new boot has a tear in it? Or maybe you are not tightening the clamp holding the boot, frame and pump enough. Another possibility is that the fitting on the pump is leaking into the boot. Not good to have fuel sitting in there. The sender should also not leak even if the tank is filled up. Take it apart and reseat the gasket properly and get the large nut tight. If it leaks out where the rivets for the wires are, cover them with a dab of silicone.

For your pump, check all your clamps - particularly the one near the check valve in the middle. A couple weeks back, I re-assembled my old pump assembly, and it was leaking around the check valve/dome nut area. David hit all the other areas, and I back his recommendations.

I didn't assemble it, the vendor did. All we did was slip everything back into place.
I tightened the clamp on the lower half of the boot where the fuel pump slips into. It was loose, I also checked the clamps on the hoses as well, they are all tight. As for the sender it looked like it was bubbling out of the top, I will try the silicon. I was thinking of replacing the entire assembly with the new one DMCH has out.
But I want to replace the rack first.

I will check the nut as well. It's been driving me nuts because it doesn't look like anything leaks when the car is running, it's only after its been shut off that I find fuel in the boot.
The top cover the hides the pump keeps coming off, could it just be the fuel rising and pushing the air out, thereby pushing the cover off?

I will check the nut and check valve tomorrow. I've considered taking the entire part out and doing it all over. I'm getting tired of smelling gas. I'm sure it's not safe either.

The fuel pump boot lip and cover are annoying as all get out. If they are not put together right on top of each other, the circular clamp almost always gives and both the boot lip and boot cover tend to separate. If the lower clamp that encompasses the main body of the fuel pump boot is good and tight, there should be nothing being pushed up and through the fuel pump boot. Check to make sure your return line is not somehow dripping around the fuel pump (I had John Hervey's fuel baffle setup from March 2004 to May 2013, so I don't remember/even know what a stock DMC fuel pump setup looks like). If not, the only thing I could think of is the aforementioned check valve and dome nut area.

When mine was leaking, I gently anchored my fuel pump assembly in a 5" vice. I then tightened the check valve and dome nut to the best of my ability, and it stopped leaking. I now run the new fuel pump/sender combo unit.
