I wrote a small story and I thought, that I will share it with you. It was written in Hungarian, so I hope the translation is not too bad and you will like it. I happily accept corrections.
So let it begin:
Einstein in work
Myron sat in the patent office waiting in the queue and he was muttering:
- This can't be real, that I have to wait so long! I! Myron! There is no respect in those clerks.
But the queue was not moved a bit. Sometimes he could hear some stamping, sometimes a little bit talking,
some paper sound, but overall the bureaucracy was working as it always worked. Slow.
Albert Einstein was sitting behind the 15/B window, and he was reading a patent request, while it's owner was
looking around embarrassed. The request was quite interesting, so Einstein could read it quickly, and formally
it was adequate too. When he finished, he hemmed a bit, registered, accounted, then stamped the request and he said:
- It seems, that we finished with this last round Mr, so from now on, you are the official holder of this patent. Congratulations.
Myron felt himself very bad. The chair was uncomfortable, the queue was still not moving, time was just very slowly passing
by. He was thinking about that if a simple pesticide patent can be such a big trouble, then it might be a good idea to start
some illegal business. There are no papers, if something works, it sells itself. He took a look on his watch, another minute passed.
Another client sat down in front of Albert Einstein with another paper. He had just started the patent process, he brought only
the 1.21/GW request. Einstein read it over, then he said to the slightly mad professor, that his request now officially taken, and
he needs to wait for a while, until it is scrutinized and then he will be notified. The professor thanked for the help, then left.
Albert took a look on his watch to see, that an other 30 minutes passed.
Myron's patience had ran out. He jumped from his chair and ran to the first open window, then yelled:
- This can not happen! It can not be so slow! My turn will never come!
The he floored his number and started to go out from the room.
- But the time is passing so quick! It is almost your turn - said Einstein.
- Ha! Almost my turn. This "almost" is so relative. Everything here is so relative!
Einstein had an idea.
