D poster for car shows

I am showing my D at http://www.texasdreamcruise.com/ next weekend and every show I've been to before I've been thinking that it would be very helpful to have a poster on a tripod with some of the Delorean basics (facts, history, myths, etc). I have found that people are geniunely interested in everything Delorean, but it gets tiresome answering the same basic questions over and over for hours on end. So before I start putting something together, has someone already done this (power point, MS Word whatever) that he/she can share?

The 'explodaview' poster is good. Delorean Club UK has them and I'm sure some US vendors do as well.

Here are some I have downloaded over the last couple years. I don't take credit for making any of them. The ones from Justin and Wilson obviously are from their efforts and were posted online at some point. The "Facts" sheets came from the Ohio club website I believe. Not sure about the window sticker one. I attached the PDF version as it won't let me do the PowerPoint one. I can send you the PPT one if you want to edit it as you see fit. The fonts don't all exactly match up perfectly, but it won't matter once people are looking at it next to your car :)

I love the exploded view poster. I remember thinking they were discontinued, as soon as I found out that was not the case I ordered one. I framed it in a modern black metal frame and use a small black metal stand for ground display.

I've always wondered about this myself, in addition to why an automatic is featured in the pic, as opposed to the more popular manual.

I say make your own; specifically for your car. Talk about its condition when you got it and what you've done to it. I always find that way more interesting at car shows. When I'm at a show, I'm a lot more interested in the story of the individual car than the model in general. I like to know about the restoration process. Stats and figures are nice too but they don't have to take up the whole thing.

Yes, I agree. Based on everyone's inputs I have received I was planning mixing things up with facts, myths, trivia and what I have done with the car.

For sure! I've talked to people at shows about how I think sometimes folks think of our stainless as "wet paint" in that "I gotta touch it" kind of way. No explanation needed if you're a DeLorean owner. What is going through people's minds I have no idea. But for some reason if they don't touch it, it won't be real or something. I stopped trying to figure that one out!

I had a poster board made by FlashCards in NH. A little expensive but very durable and won't fade from the sun (the exploded view poster will). 603-641-1901. They can show mine to you, ask about # B1583. You should make up your own based on your car. Along the same lines I also recommend making up two 1/2" plastic pipes to fit between the anchor pins for the doors. You paint them yellow and then stripe them with black tape. Keeps spectators from trying to sit in the car. I stick the poster on the front of the car behind the front license plate, don't need a stand. it's good unless it's windy. Answers the most common questions and gives everyone something to take a picture of.
