The following sale looks like a scam unless the seller has his information wrong:

The seller says it's an '81. The hood looks like an '83 hood. The interior shows a gray five speed. Per my records, that VIN (2607) should be a black automatic. The sale might be legit but beware. Also he has zero feedbacks.

Yeah, something's not right here. Either the first auction is a scam, this auction is a scam, or both are scams.

Same car in the pictures anyway.

Different sellers, different item locations, different VINs, different model years,...

Agreed. I can't believe that the would-be scamster lifted a dealer's auction, practically verbatim, and couldn't at least wait to list until after the completion of the dealer auction.

Honestly!?!?!:mallet:

EDIT: Then again, I suppose it's possible that the first auction was an attempted consignment sale through the dealer, and now the actual seller is trying to sell on his own - but why on earth would someone from Texas consign with a dealership in Missouri?

I didn't look that closely at this ad but did notice that the zero feedback seller's location says Dallas, TX but the phone number is a 417 area code, which is not a DFW area code.

Good pick-up - however, with the mass use of cell phones, area codes have pretty much become meaningless as to figuring out the actual physical location of a person. For example, I still have a SE Wisconsin phone number, but currently live in mid-Michigan, and have for the last 8 years.
