In what capacity? Are you thinking that the auction is a scam, or are you interested in making an offer on the car and wondering about its value?

Auction looks legit to me - 100+ positive feedback seller, encourages inspections/test-drives, leery of new bidders, VIN plate pic matches stated VIN, etc.

As to value - I personally wouldn't go any higher than $14,000 - but then again, I'd never buy an auto trans D, especially a painted one.

It seems like a legit auction. You would know better than anyone else that it has been re-listed at least once. He probably thinks it is worth a lot more than it is, I agree with what Nightflyer commented on as for the value.
Also not interested in an auto either!

In terms of the car itself, it gives me the feeling that you would find alot of interesting (not in a good way) surprises when working on it. Things that make me think this is the paint and turbo, but little things as well. Like the missing moulding, blanked center caps, and overall poor installation of the turbo (the throttle cover was just hastily bent for example)

I was just curious about it's value. Personally I wouldn't offer over 10k for it. Deloreans are getting pricey to fix, so I would take caution on purchasing a painted car. Plus this one is a Turbo so you got to factor if the previous owner overboosted the engine and no beefed up internals done to the engine most likely.

Part of me feels sorry for it though.:cry:

I believe this is the guy I bought a "parts" car from a couple months back. He had a red one sitting outside but I didn't get a chance to check it out.
So I believe the listing is a legitimate listing. From a distance it looked "okay" but anyone interested needs to lay eyes on it. The parts car I bought from him was pretty much what he said it was.

No frame pictures and that turbo charger looks pretty rusty. The rest of the pictures look ok. I didn't see any big red flags provided the buyer is good with the car being painted.
