When removing my front bumper I literally broke all of the studs. Some of them were already broken and one of the PO's had used some epoxy goo to stick bolts to the bumper.

So my question is, how can I replace these studs? I'm sure someone has done it before!

Thanks!

Which Studs Did you break? The ones out on the sides (ends) or the ones the hold the Chin spoiler?

Define bumper. Do you mean the fascia, the spoiler, or the impact absorber (which has no studs)?

Sorry guys. I am referring the the fascia covering. There are three bolts running vertically (sort of) that connect to the fenders that I snapped on each side.

Can anyone help me out with this?

You'll need to cut around the old studs with a dremel and pull them out. Careful not to cut too deep. Then you either replace them with stainless elevator bolts that have to be cut or T-bolts if you can find them. They'll need to be glued back in. The industrial glue I used sucks so I can't recommend any. I'll have to redo my rear fascia at some point.

Josh at DPI recommended Valvoline Plio-grip Panel 60 for bonding new studs into the urethane bumpers.

It is expensive, if you can even find it. I got it right from Josh (for another owner's car), and it does hold...

Thanks for the info. I'm pretty sure I ran across that in my local automotive paint and body supply. Also found it on Amazon.

Old studs are completely gone, so thats not a problem. One of the POs tried to do this fix before and used RTV to hold the studs on. I will look for those bolts at a local fastener supply. Thanks guys!

Use polyurethane adhesive to "glue" new bolts to the fascia. I did that may years ago and it worked great.

That was 20 years ago and at the time one of the vendors had replacement "bolts" that had a wide plate (3/4" x 1" or so) just like the originals ... except they were zinc-chromated. After installing the new studs, coat with a heavy wax type material to prevent future rust problems

Why not choose stainless:
