very cool! My tree is starting to look like a parking lot at one of the DMC dealerships.

Looks more like a cardboard cutout than an actual toy car.

That's the exact same thing I said when I first saw the pic 8)

That one is going to look a lot better than last year's does when I hang it from my rearview mirror at shows. This one is supposed to be floating.

It is! You can tell by the Sunstar headlights. Wow...

Yea I have the hallmark magazine that has all the orniments for next year and that one wasn't in there? But it does look like a picture on cardboard anyways. So not so cool!

So you think Hallmark will be selling cardboard ornaments or perhaps they just used the cardboard photo as a filler until the actual ornament is ready/released? Maybe Hallmark is trying something new for 2013, all ornaments will be made of cardboard.

If you notice also, the photo of the car in the ornament has the side mirror missing. Come on, Hallmark!

Who knows what they are doing, all I know is that it wasn't in their magazine. I don't think hallmark would go that cheap to make cardboard ortiments, when they are famous for this stuff.

The other two ornaments shown look to be cardboard too, especially the General.

I apologize if I'm missing the sarcasm but some posts seem to be serious about the cardboard ornaments. When Hallmark has an ornament that hasn't been released yet the stores have little cardboard cutouts hanging in their place. Most of the time these are photos of the prototypes so they look slightly different or in the DeLorean's case, missing parts. I'm positive on release date you will get metal and plastic miniature DeLorean Time Machines.

Source, I collected Star Trek ornaments for years.

So you are saying that all future Hallmark ornaments will be made of cardboard or just the Delorean and Star trek ornaments will be made of cardboard?

I think the Disney ones will be as well but not the Star Wars ones. Never the Star Wars ones. Those will be made of graphite.

Hmpf. The Star Wars ones should be made of carbonite. :)

No sarcasm from me. Just ignorance I guess :bang: Not a great collector of anything.

Everything is being "de-contented" at the altar of "value", so I had no trouble believing that someone would market cardboard ornaments. Nor that people would buy them.

The DeLorean ones will be made out of aluminum - Just like the real car.

...And they'll be really heavy.

Guy Avellon was kind enough to get me the Flying Delorean recently, but I didn't know there was a Simon!!!

Looks like EBAY for me as I highly doubt these will make it to our shores. Also had a look, there's an Alien version from the movie. Sweeeeet!

Anyone know if it lights up or if the flux bands are painted blue?

I have one of the original hallmark ornaments in my BTTF pinball machine but if this one lights up, it's totally taking its place!!

It lights up for a few seconds when the button is pushed - no animation or sound like some of the others though

Just got one a little bit ago from the local Hallmark. Sad it doesn't make sounds as the Vacation one does. as well as the Jawa Sandcrawler, the Darth Vader on the table, and a whole bunch of others. Still, something cool to hang in my office with some fishing line.

My wife surprised me with the latest BTTF II version as an anniversary gift last Friday. She said, she stumbled on it accidentally while looking for an ornament for someone else. Lucky me. I had know idea this new version existed. Unlike last years version. The body is plastic. Last years version is much heavier, I have to assume it is metal.Given that Hallmark likes to do ornaments in series collections. I would expect a BTTF III version next year. http://dmctalk.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=31821&stc=1 http://dmctalk.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=31820&stc=1
