Turbo not working.

My turbo isn't working. Getting no boost. I looked through the manuals and couldn't find anything about the turbo.

Can anyone give me a place to start?

We took off both hoses, to make sure they weren't blocked. Cranked engine and the turbo spins.

You won't find anything in the manual as the turbo wasn't OEM equipment.

Do you know which turbo setup you have (Island, BAE, other??) - a picture of your engine compartment may help.

+1 need to know what turbo type. You also need to check for compressor play. Pull the impeller shaft and move it around, there should be no free play. All it should do is spin. It shouldn't move around. Usually the turbo designs are pull through and if a hose is loose you will have a vacuum leak.
If the car has a wastegate, make sure it hasn't failed in the "open" position and that it's not bleeding off boost.

If you checked the turbo and it spins and there is not any looseness or roughness in the bearings the only other reason you are not getting boost is if you have leaks in the plumbing. You checked the turbo cold I assume. It is possible when it gets hot it doesn't turn. That is usually from coked up bearings. Check for leaks and if you can't find any you probably need to rebuild the turbo. Make sure the wastegate can move freely before removing the turbo.

That is an interesting Wastegate exit, just a little muffler that points at the muffler. That waste gate could be faulty/stuck.

Anyone know if all of the Delorean BAEs use the same turbo (RaJay). I'm wondering about them being able to "spin"...
Anyone know what the part in the first row, 2nd from the right is/does, exactly? It spring loads the piece to its left when you tighten the nut on the shaft. This makes the turbine not freewheel, but it is smooth and fairly easy to turn. Hmmm...?

I would pull it apart and rebuild it. Getting a replacement is going to be tough, and if memory serves, the wastegate isnt to complex, and can be serviced by removing all the allen head bolts....

You can get those from amazon, ebay to any other car store. (I recently saw a few on those sites) You can even put newer version on it discharge the turbo sooner. Just check the fitting first.
