Well it wasn't exactly what I was looking for, but I couldn't say no for the price so I decided to try a cruiser for a bit. I found a very nice Suzuki Intruder 800 with only 4,800 miles. Would have it home right now if it were not storming. if the roads dry by this evening I will pick it up tonight, otherwise I have to wait until Monday evening. He was asking 2,500, we danced a bit and I ended up getting it for $1,800 but because I am a perfectionist, I will spend another 200.00 doing fluid changes and replacing the front tire(cracked on sides), so at the end of the day I will have 2k in her, so I don't think I can go wrong.

I have probably logged 100k on sport bikes, sold my 02 VFR Interceptor about 4-5 years ago and that's the last time I have ridden. I have ridden this type of Intruder before, they have a lower seat height and I love the riding position on them. So now that I have another bike, you can pretty much guarantee that you will see it raining even more around East Tennessee.

These pics were from the Craigslist ad, it was dirty but when I get her home she will shine like new.

Already lost my spleen...motorcycle crash about 16 years ago. I was back on my bike with staples still in my stomach, hurt like Hell every time I hit a bump.

Great buy, hope its a good bike. I'm on a Ninja 500 and I'm about at the point that I'm going to look for a ZX600 soon. Be safe and have fun!

Not a big fan of Suzuki's (am a Honda kinda a guy) but the intruder always caught my eye! Sweet looking chopper with some extreme, for the japanese design, features.
Ride safely!
Been riding since 1992 (Only Goldwings) and that bike has saved my ass several times. Keep it well maintained (tires brakes etc) and it will maintain you well in return.

Well it's been almost a month and I finally got my Intruder the way I want it. I have put almost 300 miles on it so I have been enjoying it some, but in the downtime I had the seat recovered because the covering looked old and wasn't taking dressing very well. I replaced the front tire, brake pads, changed the fluids, and most importantly replaced those obnoxious pipes with a set of brand new factory mufflers. If you think loud pipes are annoying in the third person, try them in the first person. Now it has a very soft mellow sound and is so much more fun to ride. Without a doubt my deal of the year was those mufflers. New they are almost 300 bucks each, I got both in an ebay auction for $6.50....Six bucks!!! I paid 30 bucks shipping so at the end of the day I am into this one for $2050.00 give or take which is pretty much on the money. It's great to buy nice bikes like this that have a few years on them as they have already bottomed out value wise. I could mile the heck out of it or just never ride it, either way I really wouldn't loose money.

I really like these Intruders, most bikes this size have a 535-650 twin, this one has a 800cc and really does get up and go when I want it to. I even got myself a cool cruiser helmet as my sportbike helmets really didn't go with this bike. It has a hidden retractable visor that drops down and a wireless brake light built in to the helmet! How cool is that?

Here are a few pics after my dismantling and detail process. I love the tank graphics, the paint trim changes colors in different lights, purple to blue to copper to maroon.
