problems

I am looking for help with a few problems
1. lights on ac control panel are on all the time, the only way to shut them off is to cut off battery.
2. cooling fan runs all the time (switch on or off) must shut off battery to stop them.
3.No low beam head lights--hi beam works-have replaced all relays including the main- car still has the head light switch that came in it-could this be the issue?
I do not think number 1 and 2 are related since 1 just started this week and the #2 has been with me a while.
I have checked all relays and fuses on the fans--- they work great just run all the time, when I turn on the battery with the disconnect switch the fans starts and the key does not stop them the only way they stop is to kill the battery. Other than this the car runs great.

Do you still run the AC light relay or the jumper installed in it's place?

1 and 3 could be the same problem - the switch.

3 could be the bulbs/themselves - are you getting 12V at the lamp socket?

1. Usually only comes on after having the IGN key in ON position;
I tend to agree with the other reply on 1 and 3 being related.
Try and check the low beams with a direct 12V source.

2. Could be a bad otterstat, or you left the A/C selector in hi or low A/C mode, which also activates the fans, regardless of the position of the IGN key.

this week end I will change the otterstat and see what that does---I will pull the low beam lights just in case both are shot and check for 12v at the plugs---and yes I still have the relay in place for the ac if adding a jumper will fix this please tell me how. I will let you guys know how all of this works out thanks for the input.

With the AC relay still in place, your AC panel light should go on and off via one of the AUX relays. Those are on the same circuit as the radio and many other things. If you pull fuse 11 and the lights go out it must be the AUX relay is stuck on your ignition switch is broken.

Low beam light are fixed, fuse 15 (yes 15) had melted the fuse box and was not working----removed wires from box put in a inline fuse and the lights are working now
The other problems are still there but with more information than before-there are a few items that work even with the switch off and the keys in my pockets---the cooling fan run all the time--the ac panel lights never goes out---the ac blower motor does not shut off and the radio does not shut off. All fuses look fine ---all relays are new I can see no problems with the wires but yet these item do not shut off when the switch is shut off but on the good side the motor does---any ideas what my problem is?

Your AUX relay is frozen on. Those are the big 70 amp relays mounted under the tray. It could also be the ignition switch. Pull the small white/blue wire of the AUX relay. If it shuts off then the ignition switch is the problem.

I can see it being the switch.

But, it would take both relays (Main and Aux) being froze On since the cooling fans (via otterstat/fan relay...) are not on the same relay as the others.

If pulling the White/Blue wire from the switch to the Aux relay doesn't turn them off (except maybe the cooling fans), try pulling fuses 5, 10, 11 one at a time to get more info.
Pulling ALL of them one at a time would give a clue(s) if that doesn't point you in the right direction.
Note any splices etc from POs too.

They should be, unless a popular mod has been performed. But his are always on.

Ron, doing as you said fuse 10 shut down the ac panel lights, the ac fan blower and even the cooling fans. I put the fuse back in and everything is as it should be. The cooling fans comes on, the ac panel lights comes on and the blower works with the switch on, when i shut the switch off the lights on the ac, the ac blower and in a minute or two the cooling fan all goes off. All I did was pull the fuse look at it and put the same fuse back in but now everything seems to be working--what the heck happened? My book says that fuse #10 does the mode switch and door warning lights however this is not the case ----- that fuse does the radio, ac panel light and power windows.

The book is right, basically, but technically:
Fuse 10: AC mode switch, door lock telltail, inertia switch, door lock relay, and door lock switches.
Fuse 11: Radio, power window switches, gear selector illumination, clock (not lamp), AC panel lamps relay, and AC panel lamps resistor.

It sounds like the wires are reversed at the fuse holder. Easy to do since they chose Light Green/White wires for both, for some odd reason. You can press the tab on the terminal down found in the tiny rectangular hole to release it with a very small screwdriver or bobby-pin and swap them back.

No telling why that "fixed" it...you'll have to wait for it to screw up again to find the problem.
Could be there was something you wiggled etc under the fuse box that was shorting power to fuse 1, 10, 11 or 16 (or what they feed), which in turn would have fed them all since they are all tied together on the fuses feed sides...
