I was looking through some progress pictures and thought i would share these two.

Here is the rear carrier I cleaned up. Took less than 10 minutes of blasting with garnet to achieve the finished product.

Yeah I was very happy with how all of the aluminum parts turned out.

It is a local DIY sandblasting business I frequent. Pay $1/min and have access to several choices of media and cabinet sizes. I am all for having my own tools but for the amount of money how the compressor, cabinet, media, and all the upkeep and electricity this is much more feasible.

For the amount of items I would want to blast in a year, I would happily go to a place like that.

Great before and after pics!

I stopped counting the number of hours I've spent sand blasting parts...

One of these days I want a blast cabinet. I have a cary type blaster but you get covered with sand so I don't use it anymore.

Wow! I'm quite surprised how nasty your hub carrier was in the before picture. It's transformation is impressive.

Great work, I just replaced my rear hub bearings and blasted the carriers then, What are your plans for the bearing retention? I highly recommend using some Loctite Sleeve retainer to prevent them from moving around and clunking.

Well I have no retention at all. Just coated everything lightly in grease and pressed it in. I have done this with other vehicles, never a problem however the delorean does have a different rear suspension.

Are you going to treat the raw aluminum with anything, such as Alodine?

Most of the suspension has been powdercoated. Just got the part back today from powdercoating actually.
