Took it off cleaned and has been put back on but between the fuel distributor and the mixture control unit where they go together is there suppose to be a o ring? ( it appears there is a aliminum gaskett there?)

i saw the o ring in this picture? http://store.delorean.com/c-335-2-2-0-fuel-injection-system.aspx

a little confused as it leaks a little fuel. i need to get this fixed if anyone can help that would be great

That O-ring that goes under the FD is just to seal air. Your leak is the aluminum "gasket" between the two FD castings. Did you use any sealer when you assembled the FD?

hi thanks for the response no we didnt use any sealer, we thought the gasket would do the sealing. would you advise to use sealer that can withstand fuel from leaking? :-)

also when they came from the new factory was sealer used between the two FD castings on deloreans?

There is a paper on rebuilding the FD that I thought was in our resource section but I did not find it. It showed the sealer that people have found to work.

CIS-Jetronic.com has a full rebuild kit for the FD, and they have sterted selling them on Ebay. I would imagine the kit comes with full instructions on sealers etc...

Here ya go - http://dmctalk.org/showthread.php?352-K-Jetronic-System&p=2640&viewfull=1#post2640

I tried it a few years back...The first one is still going. The second kept weeping and is sitting in a box. I'm going to try it again when I get the metal gasket....

Here is the Ebay listing for my FD, pn 0 438 100 076 which is an adjustable type.

I guess this also is the one for the stock FD since it lists DeLorean.

Thanks Dave! The adjustable type is what I have...

fyi- This site (which had a virus in its check out recently) shows different kits for non/adjustable IF it comes with a plate.
(see 6th and 7th down. http://www.ferrari400parts.com/boschshop.php?category=12&view=productListPage). Not sure why.
Interesting that they mention "same sized plungers"...
