For years I've bounced back and forth between dead-end jobs that barely pay the bills but I've finally landed a job with awesome pay, stability and great benefits that will allow me to start saving for my DeLorean, a process I expect to take between 18 and 24 months. Ideally I'd like to put $10,000 down and pay it off within a year and a half or so. I have to pay off the remaining $1,800 I owe on my daily driver (new car with a warranty) before I start filling the bank on the D.

I used to be very active on the old DMC Talk before the crash and amassed well over a thousand posts before realizing that there's only so much you can say and talk about without owning one so I eventually demoted myself to lurker status. Hanging out with DeLorean owners and even helping to work on them has taught me so much about how they work and what is involved in owning one. I've waited 13 years to get to this point, I think I can wait another year or so. :) The weird thing is that the DeLorean that I'll buy has been out there since I started dreaming about owning one. Heck, it was out there roaming around for 4-5 years before I was born!

Welcome back so! I'm paving my way to Delorean ownership too! Technically speaking I'm already a D owner, but my car is soo far away that I can't wait for it to come !!

Good luck, I just got mine a week ago after admiring the car since I was a kid. It is such an awesome feeling to see your very own D parked in your garage. There is nothing like it!

And after owning my car for over a year now, I can tell you that it's still an awesome feeling.
