Ok.. I'm taking a test drive after I replaced my rear hub.

I hear a one second sound like a buzz , it seems to come from the relay compartment.

The blower (heater or ac setting) won't come on at all anymore.

I replaced it last year, it's new. I checked the connectors. One was off, I put it on. Same results.

I took a volt meter to the leads going to the blower, it says right about 13.8 to 14

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Jeff

Hey Jeff,

When you say one of the connectors was off, do you mean right at the blower motor?

When you mentioned the part about measuring voltage at the leads and it is there, one thing that came to mind would be your circuit breaker causing problems. If the circuit breaker was faulty, it would allow the voltage to be measured when the blower isn't on, but might be tripping upon engaging the blower. Where it would either be the breaker tripping prematurely, or something is shorted out somewhere?

The breaker is #19 on the fuse and relay schematic and is rated at 30 Amp. How does yours look? Have you upgraded it from the original at any point?

Remember you need to check the voltage with the blower attached so it loads the circuit.

A buzzing relay would indicate a bad connection. Pull and reinstall your fuses.
