Recent black ebay delorean

Also what is very interesting is the 3 photos shown, the 2nd and 3rd are not the same car as the first car. In fact, the last 2 photos were taken at the First DMCH open house event. It was before they moved to Humble, TX. The person in the white shirt and shorts is James Espey, He was Demoing the Black car (TEXAS Plates), It was there FIRST Stage II upgraded Automatic with a modified shift computer. I got to drive the car at the event, It was the first time I had driven Delorean with an Automatic. I remember thinking how weird it felt, because I was so used to my 5-speed D.

Actually SS makes it hotter. The paint ( even black) deflects a lot of the suns heat. Just park your D and a regular car on your driveway in the sun for some time. Then touch both and see which one is hotter. You probably couldn't keep your hand on the D.

A couple photos have me curious about how "excellent" this car is.

- Is the drivers door headliner missing? Pic 5 is the only angle and it's not a close-up, but it seems like you can see cave paintings there.
- The yellow wire with what looks like a red plastic wire splice located centre engine, just under the "D" in the air filter housing DMC label. Might be a story there. Doesn't seem factory to me.
- Rear fender power antenna okay? It doesn't show, yet in the last couple pictures, the stereo seems to be powered up (which might imply the antenna should have gone up, maybe not though).
- If you're getting your car ready for a for sale photo shoot, wouldn't you put the Lotus plywood back in place over the fuse and relay area as well as the parcel shelf carpet piece? Or are they missing? Or were they removed because there's an issue there in the electrical system? The drivers side ECU area seems to have a wire or two not sitting down where they tend to normally be. Fresh creative fix??

Door headliner is removed.
Yellow wire (capacitor) is Factory on late model cars.
It has the Power antenna. Not up in the exterior shots. But the Key Is ON in the Interior shot of the Radio. (may have been switched ON just for that Shot)
Floating Red wire in the ECU area is the +12 wire for the Antenna. It typically is connected to the CB next to the DOOR LOCK MODULE.

I have always wanted a black Delorean. I have a red one but I want a black one. In all honestly you have no idea what you are purchasing in a painted car. Almost better to take a damaged car or panels to start with and paint it yourself.

I understand. For some reason I like the look of the black one. If bought it would remain painted, I wouldn't try to strip it. It feel better buying an already painted car vs painting one unless as you mentioned the cars panels were damaged to the point where paint was the only fix.

At the first ebay, the black Delorean is from Welmoed. It was taken at DCS in Gettsburg. You can see it carries the flag from Holland on the hood where it is now.

Yep, that my #6513!
Photographs - at least the one with James Espey - must have been taken while in possession of the PO (prior to end of May 2008).
The other rear end picture is probably taken at DCS 2008.
The left and front picture is not my car as mine doesn't have the DCM logo on the grille.
