Hi all,
I am having problems with my brand new Interior Drop Glass Seals & Outer Wipe Seals I bought from DMCH.
The outer wipe seals have spaces towars the rear, and the front don't quite fit good, then they both don't stink onto the door. Just wobbles loose.

The inner drop glass seals, do not stick onto the rubber piece, they keep peeling off!!

Remember these are brand new!!!
Any ideas what to do?? Do I return them or anything??

I have seen more than once that the outer window wipe seals are not matching the length of the window.
On my car the seal moves forward after some up and downs of the driver's side window.
I am told this can happen when the fixed window has been replaced and not mounted in the correct (most forward) position.
This could be one of the reasons for your seal's short length.
By "brand new" do you mean brand new NOS, or did you buy it at some car shop other than DMC?
The NOS should have a correct fit, the brand new from a local vendor could mismatch as it's probably not intended to fit a D.

If those inner felt seals are nos, forget about using them. They will fall apart pretty much straight away. The glue has gone all crusty over the years. On the old dot com forum, someone did a how to using a modified ford Taurus (if I remember correctly) rubber seal which looked the goods. Maybe that person could chime in if they are still active on the forum? I would like to get hold of the how to as well.
More about the inner (felt) seal.
Be sure the drop glass is tracking properly.
If the drop glass guides aren't correctly on both the front and rear guide tracks then the window may still go up and down decently yet at the same time "lean" in toward the cabin after it's partway down. This makes the glass rub against the inner seal more than it should, using it to support the glass. The seal is not designed to take that load and will begin to deteriorate as a result. Replacing the seal will only be a temporary fix.
One other sign that the drop glass is off one or the other track is if it goes up at a tilt, then straightens to horizontal only as it arrives in the full-up position. The photo here shows that symptom.

Yes, both seals are NOS from DMCH!
The outter seal is kinda short, does not stick!
The inner seal peels off!
Do I return these to DMCH?
Do I return these to DMCH?
I'd call and talk to DMCH first.

I had this same thing happen. The outer seals are NOS, but so is their glue. A little gasket adhesive stuck them on nicely, and a little black silicone, applied with the utmost care and sculpted with a toothpick (after it became tacky, but not dry) filled the gaps beautifully.

I had the exact same problems. Remove any old loose adhesive before applying new adhesive. My recommendation is to use 3M Super Weatherstrip and Gasket Adhesive. Apply a thin layer onto both surfaces, let dry until tacky, then stick and hold together. It will be permanent. It will help to have some one hold the Interior Drop Glass Seal while you apply the adhesive. I hated trying to apply adhesive to the Outer Wipe Seal by myself and holding it while I waited for it to become tacky so I could stick it together. I would find someone to help you as I live about 3,000 miles away and can’t be of much help.
To fill in those open spaces at the ends of the Outer Wiper Seal I personally used McKanica Seam Sealer Black. Or you can use RTV silicone black and you will have to shape it as it is curing. It’s messy so I used disposable nitrile rubber gloves and lots of paper towels to shape the Seam Sealer as it was curing. Now that the Seam Sealer is cured it looks like black rubber.
Please see picture below. At the same time I also replaced the Retainer Strip, Rubber which is not illustrated in the Parts Manual.

On my car, the loop side of velcro was used for the inner window wipe seal. I didn't like it because the adhesive was not good on the velcro. Instead, I used this:

This stuff is great and there is no adhesive to worry about. Somone posted a how to on the old forum. You just pop rivit the strips to the black bracket the old seals were glued to. These two foot strips are just the right size.
As far as the outer wipe seals go, I don't think there is an alternative to the NOS stuff. Mine are getting brittle, and I was thinking about replacing them. That's a bummer they don't fit that great. I looked on Houston's page and it looks like there are metal tabs on the seal wipes. Is this the right page?

+1 to everything here. The 3M weatherstrip adhesive is incredible; it's like it KNOWS what to stick to and what not to. That said, you do want to wipe it off anywhere it isn't intended before it dries fully, but it comes off easily until then. If it sounds like a really time consuming and unpleasant way to spend an afternoon then you're right, it is - but you'll really appreciate the results, especially when you don't have to do this again for another 50 years (these modern adhesives are much more durable than the old junk) 8)

So part #110731 - that's an actual rubber seal that goes AROUND the black casing of the tollbooth window?? I've never seen that before, and I've had a very irritating leak somewhere around my tollbooth window - driver's side. I'll look over, and somehow small drops of water come through the black seal separating the stationary window from the tollbooth window. It's been driving me absolutely nuts, and I had no idea that there was another rubber seal that looks to go AROUND the "black casing" of the stationary and tollbooth windows. Am I correct? If so, I am so ordering that part.

Yes, if you are describing a seal between the fixed door glass and the black metal channel that the drop glass rises up into then you are correct. The part number references in the photo at the end of Posting #8 of this thread are accurate.
Back to the delamination of the felt from the inner drop glass seal, I was successful some time back with the 3M W'strip adhesive that outatym2001 recommends. But ONLY after I got the drop glass back on the front track. With the glass off one track 3 things happened. The glass went up unevenly, the glass did not quite nest into the middle of its upper seal just as it closed and the drop glass kept delaminating the felt I had just glued back on.
After the glass-track issue was fixed the felt stayed where it belonged and the other two problems disappeared. The felt strip will not guide the glass like two engaged tracks will. As to how to fix THAT problem - drop glass disengaged from track- it's dealt with in a new thread. If somebody wants to ask about that problem or can dig up a "How To" then post up new.

Yes, that’s correct. Or like rwipfler posted before I could.
I had that black painted aluminum divider glass thing professionally bead blasted then powder coated with an exterior use black powder coat for a durable forever lasting protection.
The seal (110731) in the previous picture was a pain in the ass. Maybe I should have added that to the pic.
First you install the rubber seal into the top channel of the black aluminum divider. Then somehow you start at one end and shove the seal against the large fixed glass. It helped me to have one person on the outside and one person on the inside opening the rubber channel as it was pressed against the edge of the fixed glass. I remember using some sort of silicone lube on the rubber so it didn’t stick to the glass.

I'd call and talk to DMCH first.
I'd call and talk to DMCH before even saying anything on the forum. Not very fair to them, is it?

I know, but same goes for me. I was working on the doors all day, taking them apart, cleaning the window rails inside oiling them, cleaning old residue, cleaning the windows really good, and I polished them also. Took awhile to do that all that. Right when I am putting everything back together, which took time as well, I finally put the new seals on and I get these problems. So it wasn't fair to me also. I'm not saying this in a rude/mean way, just explaining the whole process I went through.

So if you put everything back together it means that you verified that the drop glass was riding properly on both the front and rear tracks, that is, not rubbing too much against the felt? If so and the felt strip delaminated then call DMCH. Or call them in any case, as noted by others.

I never had any problems with the windows. The windows were always riding good, I just took everything out to give them a clean and oil them, and polish, because they were dry and had very light corrosion on them, very light not bad at all. The felt strip was already peeling off once I opened it out of its package. When I saw that I put a bunch of little clamps on them to hold it into place, thinking it would definitely stick on. After I installed the piece on the support bracket, right when I was ready to put it on the door I noticed it was peeling again. And I was curious if other people had the same problem.

On My car the Factory did use black(silastic), know as RTV today, too fill and seal the gaps at the ends of the outer seal.
