Can the window be manually put in the closed position? .................. Did not think so but worth asking.....
I have tinkered with the pass side window in the past "yes I bled" and read enough about them to know its above my tech level,my physical ability and my mental will power:lol:
It just died instantly. No motor running,no clicking, no nothing.I swapped the switch with the pass side and nothing. BTW both are new DMC. I pulled out the old felt which was rotten so its not jamming the glass "now". I have tried to physically assist the glass but the motor is not doing anything. I popped off the black interior piece and tugged on connectors but thats as far as I went.
If I can can just get the glass up it will remain that way until I can find someone to do the jobs.
So anyone who has been in this situation any advice welcomed.
***Also anyone within reasonable distance from Columbia SC who wants a job to replace or repair the drivers and pass side assemblies pm or email me.***

Did you try powering the motor directly?
(Either the appropriate wire in de loom to the door, or in the guts of the door).

I am electrically challenged.
But no I have not tried and do not know anything about the wiring but suspect I may eventually.
Disconnect the switches. Rig two wires right off of the battery + and -. Connect one to the Slate/Red wire in the plug and the other to the Slate/Blue wire in the plug. It should move the window up or down. Reverse the wires to run it the other way. Do this very briefly the first try to avoid damage to the terminal and wires in case there is a short. It will spark some regardless...

Hey Ron long time....................
I just moved over to west side of Columbia "Irmo" near Lake Murray so I am about 25 minutes closer to you...
I never figured out the ignition issue now this???? I knew it was just a matter of time but dam its just maybe a inch and 1/2 down. If I can get it up I swear I will never touch them suckers again!!!!!
I will go out there later and see if I can make heads or tails of what you said.
Thanks for the replies.

+1
You may have struck a broken wire in the loom, a broken ground wire or a defective window motor.
So if the above doesn't help, you can go to the wire loom connector behind the driver's side rear inner panel (the speaker panel).
You'll find the connector to the passenger door wire loom there.
Use the electrical diagram to find the right color(s) for the window motor.
You can then proceed as per Ron's suggestion.
Mind that there's also another connector underneath the roof cage, which can be accessed after removing the T-panel.
Hope this helps.
Order your parts and come see me...
It would take most of a day to swap both out...no one has claimed your bed yet. LOL

The pass side came off its track but works and just needs a little help that last 1/4 inch.
The drivers side has never had any issues or warnings and yesterday when I hit down on the switch it started down and instantly stopped. No rattling, buzzing, smoke or smells.
From what I can see the door panel has never been off.
Ron- If I can get the window up I plan to sit tight until winter is over and would love to come up spring and see you all. I have enough msc things on this car to keep us busy at least a week. Most of it will be spent waiting on parts as you know.
Or you can get the Delorean and keep it this winter and work on it at your leisure.
I am just to beat up right now to get my head and hands in that door.Whats it like a 9 out of 10 on the frustration meter?
For the left (drivers) side, use Slate/Purple and Slate/Green in the other plug.

Ok now I do not need any smoke or flames!
Its the drivers side window thats down. Vin 1597 stock wires afaik and the new dmc switch.
Pass side working and the drivers side switch lights up. I swapped them, nothing.Took interior panel off "top" and looked inside.Thats as far as I have gone.
BTW-If I had a parts list of what all I need dont think I would not head your way before its really gets cold.
Ok now I do not need any smoke or flames!lol If you do it in the pairs I mentioned, you shouldn't have a problem. Put a 30 Amp fuse in one of the test wires for peace of mind if you have to... lol

I have not forgotten.
Just moved and the car is buried in my new garage which is also being used as a storage area with boxes to the ceiling. Been living out of those boxes and cannot find clothes much less some wires and other msc things to try and power that window up.
Maybe try Wed.

"Rig two wires right off of the battery + and -. Connect one to the Slate/Red wire in the plug and the other to the Slate/Blue wire in the plug. "
All I got was a spark off the pos wire when I touched the switch.
