When I saw the title of this thread, at first I thought that perhaps it was one of the other 4x4 DeLorean projects, but based on the picture used... yeah.

I honestly don't get what people hope to accomplish via such antics. Do they hope that someone will send them an electronic deposit, site unseen? Was this guy aiming to physically assault and rob anyone who showed up to look at the car he supposedly has for sale?

Agreed. When I saw the thread title, for a very brief moment, I thought someone had finished the Rowdy Gowdy project (BTTF III 4x4).

That was not the case.

Speaking of Gowdy, it looks like Gowdy Auto Sales and Gowdy Auto Group have gone out of business, and for good reason. The last review I could find from one of their customers had this to say:


I purchased a 2007 BMW 335i from these guys. The car was a total basket case that had been kicked around from 3 other used car dealers and was a repo from Florida. None of this was disclosed to me. The car needed over $6k in repairs just to be driven and smog checked.
Check engine light taped over in cluster, transmission leaking, engine leaking oil, worn suspension, worn brakes, flat tires, dead battery, shot window tint, bad paint on front bumper, cloudy headlights, the list goes on and on.
The owner, Kyle Gowdy, promised to pay me back some of the money for the repairs, but after 2 months of not sending a check- he backed out and said he's closing this place down. Buyer beware.
