I ordered up a 3/8"drive 8mm oil plug socket from Ebay. Thought I'd pass on the info if anyone needed to pick one up.

Item total $7.07 including shipping from the UK. Ordered on Oct 22nd, received on Oct 30th. Smoking deal!

Yes, that is a great price. My question is, is it really good. If it is not made very well it will break. Sometimes you have to really crank hard on the plug to get it loose and where it transitions to the square is a high stress weak point. I see it is guaranteed but it may cost you more for the shipping than another getting another one. The one I bought from Snap-On is also lifetime guaranteed but it cost 4 X the price! What I have seen done is you buy a short piece of square stock and put a 90 degree bend in it about 2" from one end. It is mild steel and can bend but it is also a good price if that is important.

I use a cut-to-size piece of 5/16" bar stock from Menards. Only $2.48 for a 1 foot piece. Works great!

Draper make good tools, or at least they used to. Craftsman quality if not SnapOn.

I would be surprised If you could fit this in between the oil pan and rear cradle with a ratchet on it.

Why not just get a hex head plug? It is less than the cost of the tool and can be found at most any autoparts stores.

The water jacket plugs and another oil galley plug are also square block plugs. But one of those is another size.
