Corner of luggage compartment cover 'delaminating'

The front corner of my luggage compartment cover on the passenger side is 'delaminated' slightly- the stainless is separated from the fiberglass and it sticks up. It looks like from what I can tell that they're bonded somehow and not fastened together. How do I fix this? Get some windshield urethane in between the two and clamp them together tight?

Ever touch your hood on a sunny day? Heat like that is asking a lot from 30 year old adhesive.

It's not the best picture by a long shot, but since it's off the car I had a harder time of it than I would have otherwise- but it still shows pretty well the problem I think...

My guess as to the solution would be as I said earlier: get the tip of my windshield urethane between the plastic and the stainless, squeeze a good bit between the two, and clamp them together overnight.

I have never seen one removed all the way. Even when chris did the pilot hood it was still there. It can be made to look better, but if its minor, it wouldnt look any better when done.

Wow, that's really cool. But they didn't say how they did it! :( Was it just brushing or were there special steps/tools involved? Oh well... I guess if it gets bad enough I can just send them the hood :)

I think what he did was grind the high spots off the braces in the x, then regrain. Again the x is still very much there, just masked some....

Well, I made a good go of it- pushed a good bit of windshield urethane in, and clamped the heck out of it over night...

But while reinstalling it, the stainless popped back loose. Oh, well. It was a good try... at least re-gluing the weatherstripping on it worked really well...

You can see the fiberglass hanging down on the corner.

Any ideas about how to correct this since the urethane didn't hold?

Is the green adhesive that was originally used available?

I would suggest using 3M panel bonding adhesive.
